Six Respiratory Targets

Six Pathogen Targets in One Rapid Combo Test

Overlapping respiratory symptoms can have different infectious causes. This four-strip immunoassay qualitatively screens for five viral targets and one bacterial target from a nasopharyngeal swab to support clinical assessment.

Viral Target · 01

SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19)

Detects SARS-CoV-2 antigen in a dedicated COVID-19 test strip, with a separate procedural control line.

Channel: COV

Viral Target · 02

Influenza A (Flu A)

Detects Influenza A antigen on the combined influenza strip. A and B result regions are read separately.

Channel: FLU A

Viral Target · 03

Influenza B (Flu B)

Detects Influenza B antigen independently of Influenza A. Both influenza target bands may appear together.

Channel: FLU B

Viral Target · 04

Respiratory Syncytial Virus

RSV antigen is read within the shared RSV/ADV strip, with distinct regions for each viral target.

Channel: RSV

Viral Target · 05

Adenovirus (ADV)

Detects respiratory Adenovirus antigen on the dual RSV/ADV strip without combining the two target readings.

Channel: ADV

Bacterial Target · 06

Mycoplasma pneumoniae (MP)

Detects M. pneumoniae antigen on its own strip. This target is bacterial, unlike the five viral targets.

Channel: MP

Performance values are transcribed from the manufacturer's Instructions for Use (IFU H10110631800, REV1.0; effective 12 February 2025). RSV is compared against PCR; the other targets against RT-PCR as labelled in the IFU. Percentages represent individual target evaluations, not a single combined six-pathogen accuracy figure. Results must be interpreted in clinical context; negative findings do not exclude infection.
Four Test StripsSeparate COVID-19 and MP strips, plus dual Flu A/B and RSV/ADV strips.
Qualitative ReadoutVisible control and target bands indicate antigen presence; band darkness is not a concentration measurement.
Practical WorkflowVisual readout at 15 minutes without needing molecular amplification equipment for this assay.
Instructions for Professional Use

4-Step Respiratory Rapid Test Procedure

The following summary follows the MI-S46001 manufacturer's instructions. Trained personnel must consult the complete IFU before testing.

1

Collect the Swab

Obtain a nasopharyngeal specimen using the appropriate synthetic-fibre, plastic-shaft swab. Process as soon as possible after collection.

2

Extract the Sample

Place the swab in the extraction buffer. Rotate it while squeezing the lower tube 10–15 times. Remove the swab, squeezing out retained liquid, then fit the nozzle.

3

Load All Four Wells

Place the test device on a clean, flat surface. Add 3 drops of extracted solution into each sample well, as specified in the IFU.

4

Read at 15 Minutes

Read the COVID-19, Flu A/B, RSV/ADV and MP strips at 15 minutes. Do not interpret test results after 30 minutes.

Handling and storage: Bring devices, reagents and specimens to 15–30°C before use. If not tested immediately, swabs may be stored at 2–8°C for up to 24 hours, according to the IFU. Treat samples and used devices as potentially biohazardous.
Result Interpretation

Understand the Four Result Windows

Every strip has its own control region (C). Target lines must be interpreted within the appropriate COVID-19, Flu A/B, RSV/ADV or MP strip.

Visual Result Guide

Apply these principles separately to each of the four strips.

Positive: Target Antigen Detected

A visible C band plus a band in a relevant target position (COV, Flu A, Flu B, RSV, ADV or MP). Flu A/B and RSV/ADV may each show two target bands.

Negative: No Target Band Detected

The relevant strip shows its C band with no target band. A negative result does not exclude infection.

Invalid: Control Band Missing

If a strip's C band does not appear, its result is invalid, even if another band is visible. Follow the IFU's repeat-test instructions.

Interpretation & Clinical Limits

A screening result is not a stand-alone clinical diagnosis.

Independent Targets

The Flu A and Flu B regions are interpreted separately; so are RSV and ADV. Each of the four strips has a procedural control line.

Faint Test Bands

Any visible shade of a target band at the specified read time should be treated as positive, as directed by the manufacturer.

Clinical Correlation

Review symptoms, exposure history and other laboratory findings. Negative results may require confirmation by molecular methods.

Beyond 30 Minutes

Do not read or reinterpret the cassette after the manufacturer’s 30-minute limit.

Contact Product Support
Which six pathogens can the Respiratory Rapid Test Kit 6 in 1 detect?

The test detects antigens from SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19), Influenza A, Influenza B, Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), Adenovirus (ADV), and Mycoplasma pneumoniae (MP). Mycoplasma pneumoniae is a bacterium; the other five targets are viruses.

What sample is required for the 6-in-1 respiratory combo test?

The manufacturer specifies a nasopharyngeal swab specimen. The kit is intended for professional in vitro diagnostic use only.

How long does the six-in-one respiratory antigen test take?

Read the result at 15 minutes and do not interpret it after 30 minutes, as directed in the manufacturer's instructions for use.

How much sample extract is needed?

After swab extraction, dispense three drops of prepared solution into each of the test device's four sample wells, following the manufacturer's instructions for use.

Can a negative rapid test exclude respiratory infection?

No. A negative antigen test does not rule out infection. A clinician should interpret the result alongside symptoms and other findings, with molecular confirmation when indicated.

How should the Respiratory Rapid Test Kit 6 in 1 be stored?

Store unused kits at 2–30°C without freezing. Follow the labelled expiry date; the supplied instructions do not specify a uniform fixed shelf life or number of tests per box.
