Feces / Stool ⏱️ 5 – 10 Mins

FOB / Transferrin (TRF) Combo Rapid Test

State-of-the-art dual-marker screening combining human Hemoglobin (lower GI bleeding) with highly stable Transferrin (upper & lower GI bleeding) for comprehensive colorectal screening.

Sensitivity: 95.2% Specificity: 99.1%
Feces / Stool ⏱️ 5 – 10 Mins

FOB Rapid Test (Fecal Occult Blood)

Immunochemical iFOBT cassette utilizing monoclonal anti-human hemoglobin antibodies. Highly specific for human blood with zero dietary restriction requirements.

Sensitivity: 94.3% Specificity: 99.5%
Feces / Stool ⏱️ 5 – 10 Mins

Transferrin (TRF) Rapid Test

Standard Operating Procedure

Standard 4-Step Testing Protocol

Designed for clinical convenience with clean fecal extraction sampling devices and fingerstick-compatible whole blood cassettes.

1

Collect Specimen

Insert spiral applicator into 3 random stool sites or collect capillary fingerstick whole blood (1 drop approx. 30 μL).

2

Homogenize in Buffer

Screw applicator back into extraction vial tightly and shake for 10-15 seconds. For PSA, dispense blood directly into cassette.

3

Dispense Specimen Drops

Break vial tip and add 2 to 3 drops of stool extract into sample well(s). For PSA, add 1 drop of blood followed by 1 drop of buffer.

4

Read Visual Results

Start the timer and read the clearly visible control and test bands at 5 to 10 minutes. Do not interpret after 15 minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is the FOB / Transferrin Combo superior to conventional FOBT?
Hemoglobin is susceptible to digestive degradation by gastric acid and pancreatic proteases as it passes through the GI tract, meaning bleeding from the stomach, duodenum, or right colon can yield false-negative FOB results. In contrast, Transferrin is highly stable throughout the entire gastrointestinal transit. Combining both markers ensures reliable detection of both lower and upper gastrointestinal bleeding lesions, including early-stage colorectal polyps and adenomas.
Do patients need to follow dietary restrictions prior to QuRapid FOB testing?
No. Unlike older guaiac-based chemical tests (gFOBT) which cross-react with animal red meat, peroxidase-rich vegetables (broccoli, turnips), or vitamin C, QuRapid FOB utilizes highly specific monoclonal anti-human hemoglobin antibodies. Patients do not need to restrict food, meat, or medications before testing.
How should an elevated PSA result (>4 ng/mL) be interpreted?
The QuRapid PSA Rapid Test is a qualitative-to-semi-quantitative screening tool calibrated at the 4 ng/mL cutoff. A positive test line indicates total PSA is >4 ng/mL, warranting immediate clinical follow-up including digital rectal examination (DRE), quantitative laboratory PSA testing, and urological consultation to differentiate benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) or prostatitis from prostate malignancy.
