Point-of-Care Toxicology

High-Throughput Urine Toxicology Dip Card Screening

Designed for occupational health centers, forensic laboratories, emergency triage, pain management clinics, and rehabilitation facilities across the UAE and GCC. The QuRapid Multi-Drug Test Panel provides a modular, cost-efficient screening format with exceptional cross-reactivity controls.

🛡️

Competitive Immunoassay

Operates on target-specific competitive binding. If drug metabolites are below cutoff concentrations, both Control (C) and Test (T) lines appear, confirming a negative screening.

⚡

Rapid 5-Minute Visual Triage

Absorbent test strips wick urine directly from standard collection cups in 10-15 seconds. High-contrast test lines develop within 5 minutes without electrical instrumentation.

🔬

Comprehensive 40-Drug Scope

Available in flexible customized configurations spanning classic illicit narcotics, synthetic cannabinoids (K2), prescription opioids, benzodiazepines, and novel stimulants.

Standardized Cut-Offs

Analyte Cut-Off Concentrations & Clinical Calibrators

Calibrated strictly against international SAMHSA and European workplace guidelines, ensuring reliable differentiation between physiological baseline and significant substance exposure.

Drug Class / Analyte Abbreviation Calibrator Standard Cut-off Concentration Clinical Detection Window

Standard Operating Procedure

Step-by-Step Dip Card Testing Protocol

Perform testing at room temperature (15°C – 30°C). Follow standard biosafety protocols when handling clinical urine specimens.

1

Remove Cap & Expose Tips

Tear open the sealed foil pouch. Hold the panel body and pull off the bottom protective cap to expose the multi-strip absorbent wicks.

2

Immerse in Urine Sample

Dip the absorbent tips vertically into the collected urine specimen for 10 to 15 seconds. Do not pass the MAX horizontal line printed on the device.

3

Recap & Lay Flat

Replace the protective cap over the wicks and place the panel flat on a clean, non-absorbent work surface. Start the timer immediately.

4

Read Result at 5 Minutes

Observe the colored bands in the viewing windows at 5 minutes. Do not interpret results after 10 minutes to prevent false color shifts.

Result Interpretation

Competitive Immunoassay Interpretation Guide

Important: Unlike infectious disease lateral flow tests, a competitive immunoassay produces a Test (T) line when the drug is ABSENT or below cutoff.

Negative (-)

Two Bands Appear (C and T)

A distinct line appears in the Control (C) zone, and another line appears in the Test (T) zone. Even a faint line indicates that the target drug concentration is below the cutoff level.

Presumptive Positive (+)

Control Band Only (C Only)

A colored band appears in the Control (C) zone, but NO line appears in the Test (T) zone. This indicates that target drug metabolites exceed the analytical cutoff concentration.

Invalid (Retest Required)

No Control Band (C Absent)

If no line forms in the Control (C) zone, the test is invalid regardless of whether a Test line is present. Retest immediately using a fresh test panel.

Clinical & Operational FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the Multi-Drug Cup and the Multi-Drug Panel?
The Multi-Drug Test Cup is an all-in-one container where the donor voids directly into the cup, providing zero-operator-exposure and built-in temperature strips. The Multi-Drug Test Panel is a dip card device that is dipped into any separate standard specimen collection container. The dip card panel is ideal for laboratories or collection sites that already utilize standard urine containers and require a modular, economical test format.
Why does a line in the Test (T) region mean a negative result?
The Multi-Drug Test Panel utilizes a competitive binding immunoassay mechanism. Drug-protein conjugates are immobilized in the test line zone. When urine contains no drug (or less than cutoff), free antibody-dye particles bind to the test zone, producing a visible line. When drug is present at or above cutoff, it saturates the antibodies, preventing them from binding to the test strip and resulting in no line.
Does a very faint Test line indicate a positive or negative reading?
Any visible line in the Test (T) region, regardless of how faint or light its color intensity, MUST be interpreted as a NEGATIVE result. Intensity varies based on urine concentration, specific gravity, and pH.
Can positive screening results be used directly in legal proceedings?
This assay provides a preliminary qualitative analytical test result only. For legal, workplace disciplinary, or forensic confirmation, presumptive positive specimens must be sent to an accredited laboratory for secondary confirmation using Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS) or Liquid Chromatography/Tandem Mass Spectrometry (LC/MS/MS).
How can healthcare providers order customized drug combinations in the UAE?
QuRapid supplies custom multi-panel configurations (e.g. 5-panel, 10-panel, 12-panel, or 14-panel dip cards) matching the exact drug formulary required by your hospital, clinic, or corporate screening protocol. Contact our Dubai medical supply team via WhatsApp at +971 4 221 5350.
